The Sky Island STEAM Express is our mobile lab that visits several different schools in Southern Arizona. The lab exhibits have different topics and are co-created with interested community members, students, and partners including the University of Arizona. Hi, I'm Liz!

I grew up just south of Birmingham, Alabama and feel most at peace outside with my hands in the dirt. I obtained my degree in Environmental Studies & have since worked with various non-profits ranging from water quality monitoring to environmental, STEAM-based outdoor education! With a passion for travel and people, I lived out of my van exploring the countryside while documenting folks' stories in 2021 and also joined a Western Swing band upon returning to Birmingham. As a recent transplant to Southern AZ, I’m excited to explore the flora and fauna & find meaningful ways to connect with the community through hands-on, STEAM education in Cochise County!
